MasterMap Download and Boundary Download will be withdrawn at the end of May 2013.

The datasets listed below are already available through Data Download in Digimap's OS Collection:

• National Boundaries

Bite-size session tomorrow

Just a reminder that tomorrow's Bite-size session in the Information Commons is Virtual Collaboration led by Chris Clow.  Working in different places, or at different times? There's some simple tools that can help you work together effectively.

No need to book, just drop in. All sessions are held on Wednesdays in the IC Collaboratory 2 at 12 noon - see the IC blog for a full list of sessions

Changes in StarPlus

We are working in the background to improve our library systems.

You can now place a reservation within StarPlus, from the 'Request' tab.

However, to see the total number of copies available of a particular book, you need to click on the 'Details' tab and then the 'This item in classic Star' link on the right hand side. This is a temporary measure until we upgrade further in the next few months.

StarPlus upgrade- Thursday 7th March

Work to integrate account information and renewals and reservations into StarPlus will take place on Thursday 7th March starting at 10.30am. This may last for several hours and there will be some disruption to the service.

It is recommended that you save your eShelf contents to Endnote or another reference service as a precaution. Alternatively you may choose to e-mail your eShelf contents to yourself. 

Every effort will be made to ensure that disruption to services is kept to a minimum.

Just a reminder that tomorrow's Bite-size session in the Information Commons is 'What's in the news?', led by Maria Mawson, Faculty Librarian for Social Sciences.

 Newspaper articles are an excellent resource to use for research and coursework across a range of disciplines. In this session Maria will help you find out how newspaper databases provided by the library can help you to collect current and historical news articles to use in your work.

New Look Resource Lists

In semester 2 we are changing the look of myResource Lists, the service that allows you to select your course readings online. 

You can still access the service via the Library tab in MUSE, from your MOLE2 courses or from the Library website, but it will look different.

The Library is updating the service, making it even easier for you to find the resources you need. The transition is underway and we welcome your feedback during this period, so please tell us what you think.

We will be launching the new look service fully in September 2013, but in the meantime if you have any queries or problems, please contact readlist@sheffield.ac.uk
